🔗 Share this article Vinted Members Express Displeasure Regarding Sizing Changes Members of the platform have expressed outrage due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size. The second-hand shopping app has altered its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel failing to inform all users about the change. Social Media Reaction Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category than originally posted because of the remapping. Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces. The platform has recommended to examine their items and manually change the size where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction. Measurement Approach Changes Earlier, the sizes had both one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Member Experiences A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. A different member, from Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she stated. Necessary Adjustments A different user, from Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential following partial earnings loss," she explained. Service Background The app has more than 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: previously, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
