Lando Norris just pipped fellow driver and championship contender Oscar Piastri for the top spot in the final moments of the practice session at the Brazilian Grand Prix. Norris, who grabbed the championship lead from Piastri by just one point after his victory in Mexico City two weeks ago, beat the Melbourne-born driver by a tiny margin of 0.023secs. Until that point, Piastri had been the leading McLaren during the running before sprint qualifying scheduled for 6:30 PM GMT. Max Verstappen, the only other driver in the points battle, sitting 36 points Norris, ended up in P17 as his Red Bull team opted for a alternative strategy.
